About the Artist

Scott's Art journey

I was one of the stereotypically kids who always drew things.  While distracted by life and the need to earn money, I never really stopped doing art in some way or another.  The detour considered of 31 years of service in the US Army and Federal service.  Family and Art were the bedrocks to keep me grounded on during all the craziness of a full life.  Now I have "retired" to the dream job and will enjoy doing full time the things which haunted my thoughts during the day jobs.

Most veterans have had intense experiences, good and bad.  All have methods to deal with these experiences.  Some methods are good and helpful, some are destructive and bad.  All don’t like to talk about the bad.  Art is one of my methods of dealing with my experiences. I strive to reframe PTSD into Post Traumatic Growth.

Painting is an antidote from the reality of the ugliness and stupidity of the human condition.  Most of which is temporary and not of consequence.  The natural world is a fragile constant and something which needs to be highlighted and preserved.  I see beauty in the natural world and I want to capture it and share with others.
